Bohemian Bliss Mixed Media Journal Book Class Intro

An Artsy Letter!

I was wondering if you might like to take on an artsy letter challenge.

An artsy Letter Idea

The next time you have the opportunity to write a real letter to someone why not “draw them a letter”.....do whatever you are moved to do. You can take a cue from me and draw your face and write the letter within the body of the person or begin doodling and writing words and thoughts in talk bubbles. Before you know it you'll have composed an entire letter much to the delight of the recipient of your joyful little missive! In case you're wondering what media i've used it's just micron pens and gel pens. I don't know if you can see but i'm flying my freak flag above my head!

You can post your letter or decorated envelopes for all of us to see!
Love, Violette xoxo

Here is the video of my studio - some of you may or may not have seen it before. Hope you like it!

I am thrilled to announce that my book: Journal Bliss: Creative Prompts to Unleash your Inner Eccentric – a dream come true is finally a reality.

You can order Journal Bliss on Amazon at my website.

Thank you to all of you who participated on the Blog Tour.

Great Play

I started art journaling soon after I purchased Journal Bliss. I just happened to see it on a display at Barnes and Noble and fell in love. I had not heard of art journaling before this. I thought it would be a great way to add play into my life. I love it!!!! I am a full-time college student so I have to read and write a lot. I found that art journaling is a wonderful stress reliever and a way to do something different. It also helps me be more creative and playful. I also love to write so I en… Continue

Being An Artist

~~ Does not mean that you simply sit and make yourself comfortable at your work table, then magically have something appear on the canvas in front of you. Being an artist means that you have moments where you wonder why you can't make pale blue co-exist with that wonderful Sea Foam Green, and then Really Wonder why you can't find your most favorite shading brush, even tho you saw it yesterday. It means there are moments where you think the finished canvas is probably your best work to date, then… Continue

Joy!

As many of you know the economy now isn't wonderful. So I've been thinking of ways to make a little extra money. After asking myself 'What do you love?' (I love kids, they are so real. I also love painting. I'm not great at it, but, I love it.) Wala! Face painting!!
I looked in the local stores for painting supplies for this new project. (I did find some in Jo-Annes. not great quality, but useable) When I got home last night, much to my surprise, I had 6 willing live canvasses to work on! I fini… Continue

Still creating

Okay, so I'm more than a month into school. So am I living up to the one hour of creativity a day? For the most part, yes. Not always though. There have been a couple of days where I haven't had a chance to do anything, but I try to do at least a half hour every day, if not more. Am I still working on the class? Yes. Slowly, but surely. I've been working on a couple of other projects as well. I just got finished painting an antique aluminum pitcher for my mother-in-law for her birthday. I also p… Continue

Are you an Artist?

I have discovered that even though I live near a pretty large city - it's still filled with some very clueless people.

Case in point: I went to the local artist store and while I was waiting in line with my supplies, I noticed the person working the register was asking people their names.

I also noticed that when this person would find the customers name in their database that their demeanor would change. They would smile and become very animated with the customer - and I noticed the customer… Continue
